Nexo
vs CryptoCard.
Nexo Card offers Debit Mode and Credit Mode. CryptoCard uses a prepaid USD balance. That difference matters more than comparing a cashback headline with a top-up percentage.

The decision in brief
Spend a balance, or borrow against crypto?
Nexo fits a broader account with borrowing and card features for eligible users. CryptoCard fits a funded spending balance with email-only onboarding. If you choose credit, include borrowing costs and collateral risk in the decision.
You want to fund a card balance directly, without using your crypto as loan collateral or managing a loyalty tier.

Credit Mode adds a second decision
With a crypto-backed loan, you need to assess repayment, interest and collateral separately from the payment card. Nexo’s credit-line page describes loan-to-value ratios and collateral management. A card reward does not remove the risks of borrowing against an asset whose price can fall. [2]
A minimum balance is not an issuance fee
Nexo’s $50 virtual-card activation threshold remains an account balance. CryptoCard’s $100 first deposit also funds spending, with $1 deducted as the top-up fee. Use the amount left available and the costs of your chosen mode when comparing how much money you need to start. [1]
Plan the physical card separately
Nexo’s physical-card order has portfolio and loyalty conditions. Check those alongside ATM allowances if this is a travel card. CryptoCard’s optional physical card is priced separately from its virtual card, and its published fee schedule does not confirm ATM availability. [1]
Your questions
Nexo,
with the details clear.
Is Nexo Card a debit card or a credit card?
It offers both Debit and Credit Mode. The funding model, costs and rewards depend on the mode you use.
Does Nexo charge $50 for a virtual card?
The cited $50 is an account-balance requirement to activate the virtual card, not a $50 issuance fee.
Can CryptoCard replace Nexo Credit Mode?
No. CryptoCard is a prepaid spending service and does not provide a crypto-backed credit line.
