The decision in brief

Manage your cards, or launch a card programme?

Choose the comparison based on what you are building. For a customer-facing card programme, examine Gnosis Pay’s onboarding and issuer infrastructure. For automating your own CryptoCard account, start with CryptoCard’s API and active-card limits.

01

Define who the cards are for

Automating cards in one account is different from offering cards to customers of a new product. Gnosis Pay markets infrastructure for the latter. Before comparing API endpoints, define your cardholders, supported countries, compliance responsibilities and required issuer relationship. [1]

02

Understand the Safe account model

Gnosis Pay describes a Safe account owned by the user, with modules controlling spending permissions and transaction flows. Review those permissions and recovery assumptions as part of an integration. CryptoCard’s API does not turn a service-held prepaid balance into a self-custodial wallet. [2]

03

Budget the complete programme

For a card programme, a per-card price is not the whole project cost. Confirm onboarding, operational support, implementation work and commercial conditions. CryptoCard publishes account-level card fees, but those prices do not constitute an offer to operate a white-label issuing programme. [3]

Your questions

Gnosis Pay,
with the details clear.

Is Gnosis Pay just another prepaid-card website?

Its current website focuses on branded card programme infrastructure. Its documentation also describes the underlying card and Safe account system.

Does self-custody remove Gnosis Pay KYC?

No. Its documented card-order onboarding includes identity verification through Sumsub. Custody and identity checks are separate questions.

Is CryptoCard’s API a white-label issuing platform?

The published API manages a CryptoCard account and its cards. It should not be assumed to include third-party issuing programme rights or unlimited card issuance.
